Blackboard is an application which allows students of Shippensburg University to participate in courses in an online environment. Through Blackboard, students can view course documents, assignments, communicate with other students and faculty, and participate in online discussions, provided that they have access to an internet connection and an internet browser.
Click on an area below to go to that section or scroll down the page to read the whole document.
All college computers are already set up for you to use Blackboard. If you are using a home computer or laptop you will need:
Info.Ship (SIS) will automatically let Blackboard know in which course(s) you
are enrolled. You are enrolled into your blackboard courses 48 hours after you
register in the SIS.
Below are step by step instructions for finding and logging into Blackboard
at Shippensburg University.
There is also a Blackboard login link on the student information website (http://info.ship.edu/).
Click on the main Blackboard login button or the alternate Blackboard login button
Enter your username and password in the login fields:
EXAMPLE: Jane A. Smith, born March 21, 1984, Ship email address is: js1234@ship.edu
Bb Username: js1234@ship.edu
Bb Password: smit19840321
It is imperative that you log out of Blackboard after every session. To do this you must click on the "logout" button on the top of your Blackboard window.
If you fail to log out of Blackboard, your username and password information will stay on the computer and anyone who uses it after you will be logged in as you.
Changing your password can prevent others from malicious entry into your courses as you. After you successfully log-in to Blackboard it is advisable to change the password. The best combination is alphanumeric (ex. 44tt44) Note: This procedure will only change your Blackboard password, not your Ship email or SIS passwords.
Follow the steps below to change your password.
You can use the new password the next time you log in to Blackboard.
